Synapse
Medical students are expected to master enormous volumes of dense, technical content under extreme time pressure. In Turkey and MENA alone there are hundreds of thousands of med students who juggle lectures, rotations, and high‑stakes exams with tools that are either generic (Anki, Notion, ChatGPT) or rigid and expensive (UWorld, Amboss). None of these tools are built around each student’s actual lecture notes and syllabus, so students waste hours manually turning PDFs into questions and flashcards, or they just give up and reread slides.Solution – SynapseSynapse is an AI‑powered study platform that turns a student’s own materials into a personalized exam engine. Students upload lecture notes, slides, or textbooks and Synapse automatically generates:– Exam‑style MCQs aligned with their uploaded content– Flashcards for active recall & spaced repetition– Structured summaries of complex topics– Access to an AI tutor (Astra) that answers questions using their materials– Concept mastery tracking that detects what they are forgetting and schedules reviewsThe goal is simple: instead of buying a generic Qbank, a student turns their own curriculum into a tailored question bank and AI copilot in minutes.Stage / TractionMVP is deployed and live. I built the full product myself over the last 4 months as a 4th‑year medical student in Istanbul. We are just coming out of beta: ~30 users have signed up, ~12 have used the product, and 6 are clear power users who keep coming back. We’re now turning on a 7‑day free trial and paywall and starting structured growth experiments in Turkish medical schools.Tech Stack– Frontend: React + TypeScript– Backend: Node.js / Express on Render– Database & auth: Supabase– AI: LLMs for question generation, summarisation, tutoring, and concept tracking (currently OpenAi)– Infra: Vercel for frontend deployment, basic analytics + loggingWhat I’m looking forA technical co‑founder who wants to own the architecture and technical roadmap long‑term (scalability, robustness, ML pipeline, security), while I focus on product, users, and go‑to‑market. Someone who cares about medical education, likes shipping fast, and is willing to start on equity only until we have revenue/funding.
